- Well, we wondered what Bowie would say about the new "Walker", and
- here it is.....
-
- The phrase "Dung Beetle Hack-in-the-Box" seems to show his feelings here
- pretty clearly. ;-)

-
- My deepest congratulations to the crew at Amiga Tech for really outdoing
- themselves this time.
-
- Imagine the hurdles they had to overcome in order to succeed in their
- goal. "What can we possibly do, to further destroy our chances of
- bringing the Amiga back?"
-
- (clap clap clap clap clap clap clap)
-
- I can see the discussion now:
-
- "I know.. HERE's an idea! -- Lets make posters.. JUST a couple, then
- people will say thats MARKETING!"
-
- "Yeah! Go on!"
-
- "See, we can save money that way, by only making, say, a dozen posters
- for the year. We'll save ALOT of money that way!"
-
- "I agree--We should save money as much as we can. How else can we
- reduce costs for the new machine?"
-
- "We can use old 1988 1MB Agnus chips in the new machine!"
-
- "Great!"
-
- "We can also continue to ship our Amiga 4000T's with 880K drives.."
-
- "Good idea!"
-
- "My uncle Adolf has a whole closet full of 8-track casette players from
- the 1970's he bought in an auction for a 2 DM.. There must be a dozen
- or so in there! How about we take the 8-track players out, put in
- an old A500 motherboard, and call it WALKER! Its GREAT!"
-
- "Thats it--You're a genius, Doc. Get right on it. I want one of them
- 8-track casette cases up and running by CeBit this March"
-
- "No problem! Got a screwdriver? I broke my Swiss Army Knife's screwdriver
- blade trying to pry the Agnuses out of A500's last week."
-
- "Here. Just use this coathanger."
-
-
-
- Never in my wildest dreams could I have imagined Amiga Tech could have
- outright screwed the pooch this badly -- Their idea of re-entering
- the market with a sad looking dung-beetle hack-in-the-box, which
- doesn't even look like a COMPUTER for gods sake..but an 8-track
- casette player?! Jeeeezus Christ!
-
- Now I *KNOW* going PC was the right thing..
